SDR Portugal will hold an information session dedicated to all trade and retail establishments that are required to become Collection Points under the Deposit-Refund System (DRS) to be implemented in Portugal.
In this context, and as established in Decreto-Lei n.º 152-D/2017, all retail establishments selling beverages covered by the system and with a display and sales area greater than 50 m² are required to install packaging collection points.
Establishments with an area equal to or less than 50 m² are exempt from this obligation, while those with an area under 400 m² may request exemption under certain conditions.
To support retailers in this process, SDR Portugal, the licensed entity for system management, has already made available the SDR Portugal Portal – an information system where all establishments covered must complete the mandatory registration, including those wishing to request an exemption.
Online information sessions
To facilitate this process, SDR Portugal will hold two online information sessions (alternative dates) dedicated to the registration of Collection Points on the SDR Portal. Participants may choose the date that is most convenient:

The sessions will be recorded and later made available in the section dedicated to Collection Points on the SDR Portugal website.
Covered beverage categories
We remind that, according to Article 30-B of the Decreto-Lei, the SDR applies to the following beverage categories:
- Mineral and spring waters and other bottled waters
- Juices, nectars, and fruit and vegetable mixes
- Concentrates for dilution
- Soft drinks, including tea-, coffee-, and herbal-based drinks
- Energy and isotonic drinks
- Beer, cider, sangria, and alcoholic mixes
